Steve Miller Band And Marty Stuart Announce Co-Headlining Summer 2020 'Americana Tour'
Summer is gonna be a hot one for classic rock and country fans! Following news of upcoming summer tours from The Rolling Stones and Dead & Company, Steve Miller Band and Marty Stuart And His Fabulous Superlatives have announced a co-headlining summer tour. Dubbed the Americana Tour, the trek kicks off this June and will take the artists across 40 North American cities. Gary Mule Deer will join the tour as the special guest opening act.
Best known for their classic hits like "The Joker" and "Fly Like An Eagle," Steve Miller Band have recorded and released 18 studio albums as well as multiple live and compilation albums. In October 2019, the band released Welcome to the Vault, a career-spanning collection comprising 52 audio tracks and 21 live performances across three CDs and one DVD.
Frontman and guitarist Steve Miller, who's released one solo album, 1988's Born 2 B Blue, will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame this June. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame as a solo artist in 2016.
Stuart is a decorated GRAMMY champion. He's won five career GRAMMYs in the country field. He won his first golden gramophone, for Best Country Vocal Collaboration, at the 35th GRAMMY Awards, held in 1993, for "The Whiskey Ain't Workin'," his collaboration with country artist Travis Tritt; the two performed the song together at that year's ceremony.
Stuart is also the final recipient of the now-discontinued Best Country Instrumental Performance GRAMMY, which he won at the 53rd GRAMMY Awards, held in 2011, for his song "Hummingbyrd," featured on his 2010 album, Ghost Train: The Studio B Sessions.
Last October, Stuart released a deluxe edition of his 1999 album, The Pilgrim, in celebration of its 20-year anniversary. This Friday (Feb. 14), he's releasing "The Pilgrim: A Wall-To-Wall Odyssey," an illustrated book that chronicles the making of the landmark album.
