From her very first vocal run, you may not be surprised Snoh Aalegra is inspired by the greatness and style of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder and Mariah Carey. Let Aalegra's smooth and sultry voice lure you in with her bare and beautiful version of "DYING 4 YOUR LOVE."

Snoh Aalegra's "DYING 4 YOUR LOVE" | Press Play

Aalegra and her gorgeous voice take center stage in the latest edition of Press Play At Home. Draped in light projection and accompanied only by a simple and soothing keyboard, Aalegra intimately confesses to her deepest emotions and to believing she'd found the one.

Co-written by Aalegra and Ari Pensmith an produced by P2J, "DYING 4 YOUR LOVE" was released as a single earlier this month. The new song follows her latest full-length, last year's critically acclaimed -Ugh, those feels again.

The LA-based Iranian singer/songwriter, who was born and raised in Sweden, Aalegra wrote her first song at 9 years old. She had the pleasure of being mentored by Prince for three years before his death, and she also counts famed producer No I.D. as a mentor and one of her favorite collaborators.

Sit back and enjoy Aalegra's performance of "DYING 4 YOUR LOVE" for Press Play At Home, and dive deeper into her music here.

"I'm up in the club / But I'm looking for something. / I don't know what it is / But I know it's one thing / I can't waste the night away on nothing," Haitian-American singer/host/comedian Jessie Woo sings on "Vacation."

For the latest edition of GRAMMY.com's Press Play At Home video series (watch below!), the Miami-based songstress brings us on a much needed vacation with a rooftop performance of the breezy track.

"No fake friends, only day one b****es / I've been waiting all day for / One night vacation," she continues in the chorus, invoking a celebratory, fun night out with friends we've certainly all missed over the months of quarantine.

"Vacation" is from Woo's 2019 debut EP, Moods Of A Cancer, and is a nod to her Haitian roots, featuring lyrics in Haiti's official language, Kreyòl. The vibrant music video was filmed in Haiti, with scenic aerial views from the Citadelle, a 19th Century fortress.

She first came into the spotlight by organically growing a big social media following, building a supportive community of women, the Seesters, on Instagram, and with hosting spots for BET, Twitter and more. Music is an important part of who she is, as she's been singing and playing drums since a young age and grew up in a musical family.

Woo sites Whitney Houston, Shania Twain and Celine Dion as her all-time favorite singers, and with confident lyrics, warm vocals and fierce energy, she is already channeling that big diva energy.

We hadn't had a brand new album from JoJo since her 2016 Mad Love., but now that has all changed. The GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter's fourth album good to know is out now and in it, she gives us a song that reveals exactly what she wants in a "Man."

The single reveals JoJo has been okay on her own but would give up her single-lady life for a man that loves her the way she loves herself. Produced by BeatGodz and Fade Majah, JoJo performs a slightly stripped-down version of "Man" for the latest rendition of Press Play.

JoJo, who counts Aretha Franklin, Erykah Badu, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston among her influences, was 12 years old when she signed her first record deal. Many may remember her for her hit "Leave (Get Out)" that reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2004 when she was 13 years old.

Pride Month is here! And the Recording Academy is celebrating with four new episodes of our exclusive performance series Press Play. Each Wednesday this month at 10 a.m. PDT / 1 p.m. EDT starting June 5, a new installment of Press Play will premiere right here on GRAMMY.com..

"Press Play" Celebrates Pride Month 2019

This special edition will feature up-and-coming musicians that represent the LGBTQ+ community including three-time GRAMMY nominated singer/songwriter Asiahn, country singer/songwriter Brandon Stansell, pop singer VINCINT, and soul singer Shea Diamond.

"Having my single where I'm singing about loving another woman on the radio is a big deal," said Asiahn when asked how music can help make progress toward equality, adding, "I feel like we still need some more representation out there, there's still people who aren't represented."

As we celebrate Pride all month long, get to know these four artists through their "Press Play" episodes each week.

GRAMMY.com Launches New Genre Pages To Expand Music Discovery

Updated daily, the genre pages will help GRAMMY.com fans explore the latest news, read artist interviews, watch original video series and exclusive performances, and discover your next favorite artist
GRAMMYs
Jan 20, 2021 - 8:00 am

The nature of music genres has changed. Today, we live in a genre-bending world where sounds and styles transcend boundaries. While the music you listen to and love can no longer only be defined by labels and categories, genres continue to provide music-lovers unique ways to discover new music and next-gen artists.

That's why we're launching our brand-new genre pages on GRAMMY.com, a dynamic feature aimed at fostering music discovery and expanding your musical knowledge. Updated daily, the genre pages will help GRAMMY.com fans discover their next favorite artist, stay up to date on the latest music news, read insightful artist interviews and explore our vast library of original video series, exclusive performances and archival footage.

Launching with sections for Rap, R&B, Pop, Country and Rock, the genre pages will give GRAMMY.com readers all the newest updates in music to know now, all packed in one, easy-to-use destination.

GRAMMY.com will launch more genre pages soon where you can explore all the artists, sounds and styles we celebrate every year at the annual GRAMMY Awards.

Much like genres themselves, the GRAMMY Awards have evolved with the ever-changing music industry throughout the decades. Originally launched in 1959, the annual GRAMMYs, music's only peer-recognized award and highest achievement, honor artists and music in a wide field of categories across more than a dozen genres. The number of awards and categories recognized at the GRAMMY Awards has changed throughout the years with the emergence of growing sounds and styles, like rap and Latin, while certain awards have been discontinued or combined into larger umbrella genres.

This year, at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards, airing Sunday, March 14, on CBS, the Recording Academy will recognize 83 categories across a vast array of genres.

As music continues to progress and fans expand the ways they consume music and culture, GRAMMY.com remains your go-to destination for new music discovery, Recording Academy and industry updates and engaging, music-first content.
