Kenny Chesney Announces New Album 'Songs For The Saints'
Country singer/songwriter and GRAMMY nominee Kenny Chesney lit up the country world with a May 1 message that his next album, Songs For The Saints, will drop July 27. "It's about the places that save us," Chesney wrote on social media.
Songs For The Saints features 12 new songs, including five co-written by Chesney himself. He also had a hand in the LP's production along with longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon. The lead single, "Get Along," was released on April 6. Additional track and songwriter information is still forthcoming.
Through his Love For Love City fundraising, Chesney has been hands-on, helping with hurricane recovery efforts, and this had an impact on his latest songwriting. "This is not a literal record," said Chesney. "But it is an album about the refuges we all have, how temporary life is and the way we navigate to better places, dig in and face the destruction."
On "Get Along," the lyrics encourage us to keep moving ahead because, "We've got a long way to go," representing an attitude that is unstoppable, while facing life's pain and giving love "the upper hand."
