Puerto Rican Eduardo Cabra (Calle 13) won Producer Of The Year at the 18th Latin GRAMMY Awards.

Watch Eduardo Cabra Accept Producer Of The Year

"Wow. Today is a crazy day. Today my son has a birthday, and this is happening, you know [it's] a very special day. I want to show my gratitude towards the technicians, to all the musicians with whom I've shared the stage with [and] with whom I've shared the studio with — the one who picks up a cable to the one who is sitting next to the console. All of those people are teachers. One is constantly learning from all of the people that affect you being onstage or [in] the recording studio. They are all teachers — really, thank you very much for your education, teachings, and your tales. In addition, I want to thank the Academy. Really, this is super neat that this is happening … thank you. And thank you to the projects [on] which I collaborated this year. They were incredible projects, incredible foundations. We had a blast in the studio. I think that's what it's all about: have fun, have a good time. I had a blast during those five jobs. Thanks to Joan. Thanks to Wendell for all of the hours we spent together in the studio. [I'm] truly thankful. Take care." — Eduardo Cabra

The win marks Cabra's 23rd Latin GRAMMY of his career.  It is the second time he's won this category. He previously won as a member of Calle 13 at the 12th Latin GRAMMY Awards in 2011.

Cabra (Visitante) produced Vicente García’s A La Mar, La Vida Bohéme’s La Lucha and Silvina Moreno’s Sofá, among other work this past year.

Previous winners for Producer Of The Year include Sebastian Krys, Juan Luis Guerra, Sergio George, and Rafael Aracute.

The other nominees in the category this year were Eduardo Bergallo, Moogie Canazio, Hamilton De Holanda, Marcos Portinari, Daniel Santiago, and Armando Manzanero.

"Despacito," Vicente García and Rubén Blades emerged as the big winners at the 18th Latin GRAMMY Awards on Nov. 16 in Las Vegas.

Rubén Blades Album Of The Year | Acceptance Speech

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," the 2017 smash that just won't slow down, took home four awards: Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Best Short Form Music Video, and Best Urban Fusion/Performance. The song's remix earned the latter award, which netted Justin Bieber his first career Latin GRAMMY win.

Newcomer Dominican singer/songwriter García won his first three career Latin awards: Best New Artist, Best Singer-Songwriter Album for A La Mar and Best Tropical Song for "Bachata En Kingston."

Vicente García Best New Artist | Acceptance Speech

The Panamanian Blades took home Album Of The Year and Best Salsa Album honors for Salsa Big Band — Rubén Blades Con Roberto Delgado & Orquesta. He was previously nominated for Album Of The Year three times.

Though they didn't work as a pair this time around, Calle 13 — Residente and Eduardo Cabra (Visitante) — made their presence known.

Residente earned Best Urban Album honors for Residente and Best Urban Song for "Somos Anormales."

Meanwhile, Cabra took home Producer Of The Year honors.

GRAMMY winner Lin-Manuel Miranda of "Hamilton" fame was feted with special recognition in the form of a President's Merit Award. "No one gets here alone," said Miranda, who referred to himself as the "weird theater kid."

The 18th Latin GRAMMY Awards was all about dazzling performances as well.

Following a moment of silence for Puerto Rico and Mexico and the people affected by the recent natural disasters, Residente opened the show on a poignant note with his "Hijos Del Cañaveral."

Alejandro Sanz, the 2017 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year, was honored by fellow Latin GRAMMY winner Juan Luis Guerra. After dedicating the award to his family, Sanz performed a medley of his hits, including "Corazón Partío."

Colombia's Juanes, who won Best Pop/Rock Album for Planes Son Amarte, joined Alessia Cara and Logic for a moving performance of the Spanish version of the latter's suicide prevention anthem, "1-800-273-8255."

Making an impressive Latin GRAMMY stage debut, Miami-based boy band collective — and Best New Artist nominees — Cnco performed their hit "Reggaetton Lento."

Colombian reggaeton singer/songwriter Maluma commanded the stage with verve during a reading of his "Felicies Los 4."

Fresh from winning her first Latin GRAMMY for Best Alternative Song, Chile's Mon Laferte energetically performed her winning song: "Amárrame."

In a raucous finale, Fonsi served up a knock-out punch of "Despacito" alongside special guests Bomba Estéreo, Víctor Manuelle and Diplo. Fittingly, the biggest song in Latin music in 2017 served as an unforgettable coda to The Biggest Night in Latin Music.

Panamanian singer/songwriter Rubén Blades Con Roberto Delgado & Orquesta took home a second Latin GRAMMY of the night when they won Album Of The Year for Salsa Big Band at the 18th Latin GRAMMY Awards.

Rubén Blades Album Of The Year | Acceptance Speech

"Good Evening.  I am absolutely surprised. Sincerely, and very grateful to the people that made this possible.  But I want to say what I said previously when we won the Salsa Album. … Success is never one person's material. I have had the luck and the common sense to work with people who know more than I do and that are better than me. … I'm embarrassed in some ways because I know the talent that is here, and casually I said, 'I feel badly when one wins and maybe the one who loses feels worse.' But sometimes when one wins you also feel badly because you don't want anyone to lose. And in reality here, there are no losers. So this award we dedicate to all of the artistic class, to Latin America, to Panama, of course. To our orchestra, to Roberto Delgado, who is responsible for all of these arrangements. To this band who has made this honor possible. To the guys who are working with us on the recordings in the tiny recording studio where we work, but where there is a big heart. To all of the people who have collaborated. For example, Roman DeLaGuardia, who made all of the graphic designs. The guy, the Argentinian Daniel, who is [doing] the mastering. I know that I am going to forget to thank all of the people I am supposed to thank, but this is an award that truly surprises us. We are so grateful in the name of Panama and all of the artistic class. So thank you very much." — Rubén Blades

Blades has previously been nominated for Album Of The Year for Mundo (2003), Tangos (2014) and Son De Panamá (2015), but this marks his first win in the category. At the 18th Latin GRAMMYs he also took home the Latin GRAMMY for Best Salsa Album, bringing his total Latin GRAMMY career wins to eight.

.@rubenblades is in shock! Him along with Roberto Delgado and Orchestra won Album of the Year. He said: “Success in never a one person thing. I’ve had luck and the common sense of working with people who know more than me and are better than me.” #salsabigband #LatinGRAMMY pic.twitter.com/nDywyDhWts
