Doja Cat Goes Futuristic For “Say So” Performance | 2021 GRAMMY Awards Show
Doja Cat ruled the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards with her twice-nominated “Say So” hit. “I haven’t been waiting for this for my whole life, I’ve been preparing,” the rapper uttered in a voiceover just seconds before she transformed the downtown Los Angeles stage into a sea of lasers.
Not a second was wasted as she gave another varied rendition of “Say So,” one of the standouts from 2019’s Hot Pink. The performance was part The Matrix and part post-apocalyptic secret agent as she commanded the stage with intricate choreography that was seemingly inspired by Janet Jackson.
2020 was a major year for Doja Cat, and it was partly due to the virality of “Say So.” She later added Nicki Minaj to the remix, which became both rappers’ first No. 1 single and made history as the first collaboration by two female rappers to top the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
This year’s GRAMMY Awards marked Doja Cat’s first-ever career nominations: Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
