André 3000 Launches Merch Benefiting The Movement For Black Lives
"Something very important is happening all over the world and it is happening to all of us. How does it make you feel?" the hip-hop and fashion innovator asked on Instagram.
"This is only one piece in the war against systemic racism. It takes all of us. BLACK LIVES MATTER … at a minimum."
100 percent of the net proceeds will be donated to the aforementioned social justice org. The long-sleeved T-shirts are inspired by the jumpsuits André wore during OutKast's 2014 music festival headline shows, featuring poignant phrases from each along with the "not for sale" price tag on the sleeve.
They cost $75 a pop and were made by EVERYBODY.WORLD, a Los Angeles ethical fashion manufacturer that uses recycled cotton and pays workers above L.A. minimum wage.
